Description

Company Overview:

Beam Therapeutics is a biotechnology company committed to establishing the leading, fully integrated platform for precision genetic medicines. To achieve this vision, Beam has assembled a platform with integrated gene editing, delivery and internal manufacturing capabilities. Beam’s suite of gene editing technologies is anchored by base editing, a proprietary technology that is designed to enable precise, predictable and efficient single base changes, at targeted genomic sequences, without making double-stranded breaks in the DNA. This has the potential to enable a wide range of therapeutic editing strategies that Beam is using to advance a diversified portfolio of base editing programs. Beam is a values-driven organization committed to its people, cutting-edge science, and a vision of providing life-long cures to patients suffering from serious diseases.

About this role

Beam Therapeutics is looking for a Senior IT Technical Analyst to own the administration and evolution of LabVantage, the laboratory information system that underpins the company's GMP and research operations. You'll configure and maintain the Laboratory Execution System, Scientific Data Management System, and instrument integrations that connect Beam's lab automation and analytical equipment to its core data platform. This role sits at the intersection of IT infrastructure and laboratory science, requiring you to translate how scientists work into scalable digital workflows while ensuring compliance with FDA regulations and data integrity standards.

The position demands deep hands-on expertise with LabVantage—at least three years of direct administration experience—combined with a solid grasp of GMP environments, computer system validation, and regulated laboratory operations. You'll spend time designing electronic worksheets, troubleshooting instrument interfaces, developing custom integrations (including Amazon S3 file transfers), and supporting validation activities. Beyond technical execution, you'll work closely with QC teams, quality assurance, and laboratory managers to identify process improvements and gather requirements that drive system enhancements.

This is a full-time, in-office role in Cambridge, Massachusetts, suited for someone with five or more years in LIMS support within pharma or biotech who wants to deepen expertise in a specific platform while contributing directly to how a precision medicine company operates its labs. The salary range is $140,000 to $185,000.
