About this role

Golden Pet Manufacturing's night shift production operator role in Seward involves hands-on work across the pet food manufacturing line. You'll operate equipment according to standard procedures, perform quality checks throughout production, handle manual product movement in a cold sanitary environment (45°F or below), and manage the physical demands of 10–12 hour shifts that include lifting up to 60 pounds, climbing, and extensive walking. Safety and compliance are central to the position—you'll follow all food safety and sanitation protocols, report hazards proactively, and maintain housekeeping standards using 5S practices. The role also requires flexibility to cross-train across departments and adapt to production schedules set by the supply chain team.

This position suits someone comfortable working independently and as part of a team, capable of juggling multiple tasks, and willing to work varying schedules. You'll need to tolerate cold temperatures and noise from production equipment regularly. Basic troubleshooting and communication with maintenance are part of the job, though no prior manufacturing experience is explicitly required—the company encourages applications from candidates who don't meet every preferred qualification.

Golden Pet Manufacturing offers substantial benefits including fully covered medical, dental, and vision insurance for employee-only plans, 401k matching up to 3.5%, an employee stock ownership plan, tuition reimbursement, six paid sick and mental health days, and an Employee Assistance Program. The company also emphasizes community involvement through charity sponsorships and hosts team events to build workplace culture.
