Overview:

Akumen, Inc. is seeking an experienced, self-motivated Project Manager to support the successful planning, coordination, and delivery of information technology projects in a federal government environment. This position will work closely with government stakeholders, technical teams, Project Managers, and Systems Engineers to coordinate project activities, maintain program documentation, support service delivery, and ensure project priorities remain aligned with customer requirements.

Responsibilities 

 

  • Support project planning and execution, including development and maintenance of project objectives, technical approaches, schedules, milestones, risks, issues, and deliverables.
  • Coordinate with government customers, development teams, Systems Engineers, and other program resources to align application support and development activities with organizational priorities and requirements.
  • Manage project change and configuration activities, including tracking change requests, reviewing open issues, maintaining configuration baselines, and communicating updates to stakeholders.
  • Support program testing activities by coordinating testing schedules, documentation, issue tracking, and communication between technical teams and stakeholders.
  • Monitor service delivery processes, service agreements, and IT operational metrics to identify risks, performance issues, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Develop and maintain program and technical documentation, including Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), test plans, reference materials, training guides, status reports, and other project artifacts.
  • Support SharePoint administration and maintenance of program document repositories, ensuring project information is organized, current, and accessible to appropriate stakeholders.

 

 

 Minimum Qualifications 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, or IT Management (or equivalent related field experience)
  • PMP certification required
  • 4+ years of experience in the Information Technology field
  • 3+ years of experience in writing technical documents
  • 3+ years of experience in a client facing role; federal clients preferred
  • Knowledge of developing, implementing, and monitoring IT program and project delivery

Desired Qualifications

  • Experience in Agile/SCRUM environments
  • ScrumMaster (CSM) certification
  • ITIL® Foundation certification
  • Familiarity with MS Project and ServiceNow IT Service Management (ITSM)

Clearance Requirement:

  • Active Secret or higher government security clearance

Typical range: $80,000 to $140,000
