About this role
Faire's Client Platform Engineering team owns the full lifecycle of corporate endpoints across macOS, Windows, Chrome OS, iOS, and Android—managing everything from OS upgrades and application deployment to device security and compliance for a global workforce. This role sits at the intersection of infrastructure engineering and IT operations, requiring you to design scalable automations, implement zero-trust security principles, and serve as an escalation point for the IT Operations team while mentoring junior staff.
You'll need at least five years managing large distributed fleets on macOS and Windows, hands-on experience with enterprise MDM platforms like Jamf or Workspace ONE, and solid proficiency in shell scripting and a language like Python or Go. Configuration management tools such as Ansible or Chef are essential, as is a working knowledge of zero-trust architecture and endpoint detection and response. The role increasingly involves evaluating and securing AI tools across the fleet, so comfort with AI coding assistants and understanding the security implications of AI agents on managed endpoints—or the ability to develop that expertise—matters.
This is an in-office role in San Francisco requiring three days per week on-site (with one flex day), though you can work remotely up to four weeks annually. The salary range is $174,500 to $240,000, plus equity and benefits. The work suits someone who enjoys building robust, maintainable systems at scale and takes satisfaction in both technical depth and supporting colleagues through complex troubleshooting.
