About this role

Burgess & Niple is building out its water and wastewater treatment practice in Florida and seeking an experienced engineering leader to establish and grow this business line alongside their existing conveyance team. You'll take on a dual role: leading the technical design of municipal treatment projects while also driving business development, client relationships, and regional expansion. This means splitting your time between hands-on project delivery—serving as project manager or technical expert—and strategic client engagement to build lasting partnerships and grow the practice.

The position calls for someone with at least ten years of experience across water and wastewater infrastructure (treatment, collection, distribution, pumping, storage) and a PE license in Florida or the ability to obtain one through reciprocity. Beyond technical depth, you'll need the business acumen and interpersonal skills to coordinate between clients, design teams, and stakeholders while mentoring and developing your engineering staff. An entrepreneurial mindset, adaptability, and a commitment to collaboration are essential—this role requires both the credibility to advise clients and the leadership presence to build a high-performing team from the ground up.
