Join our survey team and put your technical skills to work across a diverse portfolio of infrastructure projects. As a Survey Technician, you'll work under the direction of a licensed Professional Surveyor gaining hands-on experience with modern equipment and technology while contributing to meaningful deliverables from field to finish.

What You’ll Do

  • Perform field and/or office survey work under the direction of a Professional Surveyor, including boundary, easement, right-of-way, route and topographic surveys
  • Conduct deed research across various jurisdictions and assist in the preparation of legal descriptions and right-of-way plans
  • Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot GPS and digital survey equipment and software
  • Prepare field notes and sketches and read and interpret road, bridge, and utility plans, deeds, and survey plats
  • Submit utility locate requests
  • Communicate regularly with designers and state and local agencies

Skills & Qualifications

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum of 2 years of surveying experience collecting topographic survey data for state transportation and utility projects and staking right-of-way and easements
  • Experience with survey software; MS Office Suite
  • Strong communication and organization skills
  • Adaptable and self-motivated with a proactive mindset as well as a proactive approach to problem solving
