About this role

Burgess & Niple is seeking an experienced engineering leader to guide their water and wastewater infrastructure practice in Cincinnati. This role combines technical project leadership with mentorship and business development, positioning you as the primary liaison between municipal and utility clients and your design teams. You'll oversee complex infrastructure projects spanning collection systems, treatment facilities, pumping stations, and system studies while maintaining quality, budget, and schedule accountability.

The ideal candidate brings at least ten years of hands-on experience in water and wastewater design, a PE license (or ability to obtain one), and a Civil Engineering degree from an ABET-accredited program. Beyond technical competency in AutoCAD and Microsoft Office, you should be comfortable with business development activities—leading pursuits, attending client meetings, and preparing proposals. Experience with Revit or hydraulic modeling, plus treatment process knowledge, would strengthen your candidacy.

This position suits someone who thrives in a leadership capacity while remaining engaged in engineering work. You'll mentor engineers at various career stages, drive regional growth for the firm, and work on projects with tangible community impact. The role demands both the analytical rigor of infrastructure design and the interpersonal skills of a servant leader committed to collaboration and developing others.
