Position Details:
We are seeking a friendly and compassionate Optometrist to join our team. As an Optometrist, you will play a crucial role in providing comprehensive care to patients in long-term care facilities. This is an exciting opportunity to make a difference in the lives of patients while working alongside a dedicated team of healthcare professionals.
Responsibilities:
- Perform routine, comprehensive exams for glasses and contacts
- Perform dilated exams
- Provide diabetic evaluations
- Treatment of infection and injury
- Repair and equip patients with eyeglasses
- Proficient in diagnosis and treatment of ocular disease
- Comfortable working with the geriatric population
Requirements:
- DO license
- DEA License
Salary Range: $40.00-$45.00 per patient

About this role
MedElite Group is building out Swift, a network providing eye care services to residents in skilled nursing and long-term care facilities across the country. This full-time optometrist role in Barre, Vermont places you in direct patient care within senior living communities rather than a traditional clinic setting.
You'll conduct comprehensive eye exams including dilated exams, manage diabetic eye evaluations, diagnose and treat ocular disease, and handle contact lens and eyeglass fitting and repair. The work requires comfort and experience with geriatric patients and their specific care needs. You'll need an active DO license and DEA license to practice.
Compensation is structured at $40–$45 per patient seen. This role suits an optometrist interested in geriatric care and the chance to work within a coordinated team of healthcare providers focused on long-term care residents.
