About this role

UP is seeking a Cardiology Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to deliver specialized cardiac care to residents across skilled nursing and long-term care facilities in the North Texas region. Working part-time from Houston, you'll perform comprehensive patient assessments, conduct diagnostic procedures like EKGs and stress tests, manage medications, and collaborate with cardiologists to adjust treatment plans. Beyond cardiology, the role encompasses broader chronic disease management, fall prevention strategies, and patient education—requiring you to balance clinical expertise with compassionate communication across complex patient populations.

The position demands at least six months of long-term care experience, an active NP or PA license with DEA credentials, and a Master's degree in Nursing from an accredited program. While cardiology experience is preferred, training is provided. You'll need strong organizational skills, reliable transportation, and willingness to travel between different facilities across North Texas. The work involves prolonged standing, occasional lifting up to 20 pounds, and hands-on patient care. Compensation ranges from $60,000 to $90,000 annually, with paid time off and malpractice insurance included.

This role suits practitioners looking for part-time work in senior care who value mission-driven environments and flexibility. Familiarity with EMR systems like Sigma or PCC is preferred but trainable, and you'll work within an interdisciplinary team focused on regulatory compliance and quality outcomes.
