About this role
ARCO seeks a QA/QC Manager to oversee quality assurance and control on mission-critical data center construction projects based in St. Louis. This contract role requires someone with at least five years of hands-on QA/QC experience in highly technical construction environments, particularly data centers. You'll be responsible for developing and implementing project-specific quality management plans, establishing inspection and testing procedures, conducting regular site compliance verifications, and leading quality audits across trades with particular focus on MEP and mission-critical systems. The position demands deep familiarity with construction documents, means and methods, and the ability to serve as the project authority on all quality-related decisions.
Success in this role depends on a strong technical foundation—a bachelor's degree in Engineering or Construction Management—combined with proven ability to manage quality documentation, train subcontractors, and coordinate with project teams to resolve issues. You'll need to be comfortable interpreting complex specifications, reading construction drawings, and working site-based or traveling as needed. This is hands-on work that values both technical rigor and leadership across multiple trades.
ARCO is a privately-owned, design-build firm with over 30 years in the industry and a track record of completing thousands of projects nationwide. The company offers competitive benefits including an employer-funded ESOP, performance-based bonuses, comprehensive health coverage, tuition reimbursement, and notably generous time off including a one-month paid sabbatical every five years and one week of paid volunteer leave annually.
