About this role
Vatn Systems is building quality infrastructure for its S6 and S12 product lines as they move from prototype toward production. This Quality Engineer role owns the Quality Management System across both lines, meaning you'll translate feedback from manufacturing, suppliers, and customers into root cause analysis, corrective actions, and design improvements that keep operations audit-ready under ISO 9001 and AS9100. You'll handle supplier quality oversight, inspection data interpretation, and the documentation that ties everything together—work that spans engineering, manufacturing, supply chain, and customer touchpoints.
The role suits someone with solid grounding in QMS standards and root cause problem-solving who can read technical drawings, GD&T, and specifications with confidence. You'll need hands-on experience in supplier quality and audits, plus the ability to communicate clearly across functions as the team grows. A B.S. in engineering or equivalent hands-on background is required; U.S. Person status is mandatory.
If you've worked in a start-up scaling a QMS from the ground up, or have experience in autonomous systems, subsea, or robotics, you'll have an edge. ASQ CQE certification and familiarity with statistical process control are valued but not required. This is an in-office contract role based in Bristol, Rhode Island.
