Job Summary
The Utility Sales Representative is responsible for maximizing profitable sales growth within assigned geographies and accounts based within their territory. Results are achieved by leading, developing and executing agreed upon sales and marketing plans.
Essential Functions
Description
- Establishes effective relationships with key decision makers and leads the sell-in process to meet or exceed set sales targets.
- Delivers captivating product knowledge (PK) sessions to store staff each season to guarantee product sell-thru success.
- Develops and executes seasonal sales and marketing plans to support business initiatives and maximize growth opportunities within the account base.
- Forecasts inventory needs and reports on territory success metrics monthly.
- Supports product merchandising by understanding competitor landscape and individual territory needs to highlight new opportunities.
- Ensure the brand is in the best retailers across the territory and seek out new business (Retail & B2B/Contract).

Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Business, Marketing, Management, or related field preferred.
- Minimum five (5) years experience in sales, account management of related field.
- Ideally located within the Province of Alberta.
Any equivalent combination of experience and education which clearly indicates the ability to perform the essential functions of the position may substitute on a year for year basis.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Proven track record of successfully developing brand relationships with new and existing partners.
- Advanced verbal, written, and presentation skills with the ability to consistently deliver a clear message.
- Strategic thinker with excellent analytical ability.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications with high competency in Excel and PowerPoint.
- Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment and travel as needed.
- Knowledge and/or experience selling "CSA" safety products considered a strong asset.
Travel Required: Yes, up to 90% of the time.
As this is a sales role, regular travel within the assigned territory is required. Candidates should have reliable access to a personal vehicle suitable for year-round travel with ability to accommodate up to four (4) large sample bags, along with a valid Canadian driver’s license and appropriate auto insurance. A Motor Vehicle Report will be required and should have no driving restrictions noted.
Base Salary: $83,610 - $85,000
This range represents the low and high ends of this position's anticipated base salary range. The actual base salary will depend on numerous factors such as experience, knowledge, skills, and location.
