About this role

D2 Technical Services is seeking a Citrix Software Virtualization Engineer to support an intelligence customer from an in-office location in the St. Louis area. This role requires an active TS/SCI security clearance and focuses on packaging and delivering mission-critical applications through virtualized environments—both VDI sessions and thick clients. You'll work across the full lifecycle of application virtualization, from sequencing and testing with mission subject matter experts to troubleshooting delivery infrastructure and managing security patches. The work demands both technical depth and clear communication, as you'll document designs, test plans, and operational guides under project deadlines while exercising considerable independence in solving virtualization challenges.

The position calls for at least five years in systems administration or virtualization, with specific expertise in VDI platforms (VMware Horizon, Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops, or RDS) and application virtualization tools like Citrix XenApp. You'll need the 8140.01M IAT Level II certification and hands-on knowledge of VMware software-defined data center products. Experience with Windows desktop and server operating systems, PowerShell automation, non-persistent environments, and profile management solutions is highly valued. The role also involves occasional travel to Springfield, Virginia.

Compensation ranges from $130k to $140k depending on qualifications, with benefits including health and dental coverage, 401(k) matching, PTO, and professional development reimbursement. D2 Technical Services is a veteran-owned small business and welcomes applications from veterans with the required skills.
