About this role

SK hynix America's Technical Accounting Manager role centers on navigating complex financial transactions and accounting standards for a semiconductor leader investing heavily in U.S. operations. You'd spend significant time analyzing M&A deals, equity method investments, and consolidation matters under IFRS, preparing detailed technical accounting memos that guide Finance, Corporate Development, Legal, and Tax teams. This is not a routine close role—it's built around solving non-standard accounting problems and serving as the technical authority on judgment calls that matter to the business.

The position demands 7-10+ years of progressive accounting experience with demonstrated depth in technical accounting, M&A, and audit coordination. A CPA is strongly preferred. You'll need to independently research complex issues, manage relationships with external auditors, and help establish accounting policies for newly acquired businesses. The role also touches monthly and quarterly closes, but the emphasis is clearly on the specialized work: evaluating purchase accounting, contingent consideration, goodwill, and ownership structure changes.

This is an in-office role in San Jose with a salary range of $110,000–$150,000. SK hynix offers comprehensive benefits including full-cost health insurance, 401k matching, parental leave, educational reimbursement up to $10,000 annually, and free meals on-site. The role is listed as volunteer employment, which may warrant clarification with the recruiter.
