About this role

Working in the Marketplace Onboarding team at takealot.com means supporting the vetting and activation of sellers on South Africa's largest e-commerce platform. You'll manage customer inquiries through Zendesk, handle Salesforce task coordination, and assist with research that feeds into process improvements—essentially serving as an operational backbone for the onboarding function. The role demands strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work methodically through tickets and data while meeting service level agreements.

This 18-month internship suits someone with formal qualification in business administration, management, or marketing who is self-motivated and genuinely curious about how e-commerce operations work at scale. You'll be embedded in a fast-paced, collaborative environment where you're expected to take initiative, ask questions, and learn from experienced professionals. Takealot emphasizes mentorship, free access to online learning platforms, and internal mobility—this is positioned as a launchpad rather than a holding pattern.

The company culture values execution over hierarchy and offers practical perks like free parking and regular team events. If you're looking for hands-on experience in a high-growth retail tech company and thrive in environments where you're expected to be proactive and adaptable, this could be a solid entry point into e-commerce operations.
