This role is eligible for a $20,000 sign-on bonus, subject to the terms and conditions of the Company’s sign-on bonus program.

The Opportunity
As Principal Engineer, you will combine technical leadership, client partnership, team development, and business strategy. You will have the support and resources of a growing national organization while helping preserve and strengthen the local leadership, relationships, and reputation that make Forsgren successful.
What You Will Do
- Lead engineers and technical staff across infrastructure projects from planning and design through bidding and construction.
- Solve complex client challenges through practical, responsive, and value driven engineering solutions.
- Mentor and develop staff, creating opportunities for people to expand their skills, take on greater responsibility, and advance their careers.
- Build trusted client relationships and identify new opportunities through thoughtful engagement, networking, proposals, and presentations.
- Drive project and operational excellence by overseeing schedules, budgets, technical quality, workload, and execution.
- Partner with division leadership on strategic planning, business development, and client relationship management across the western U.S.
- Play a central role in talent development, succession planning, and the long term strength of the organization.
- Help refine and execute the firm’s strategy and growth plan while guiding the day to day operations and profitability of the Boise office.
What You Bring
- B.S. in Civil Engineering or a related field.
- Professional Engineer registration
- 10+ years of civil engineering experience.
- A record of leading multidisciplinary project teams and building strong client relationships.
- Project management experience, including proposals, scopes, budgets, and successful project execution.
- A genuine commitment to mentoring staff and developing high performing teams.
- Experience with strategic planning, client development, and operational oversight.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills and strong interpersonal judgment.
