About this role

Superior Alarm Systems is looking for an experienced technician to install, maintain, and troubleshoot integrated security systems—including intrusion alarms, video surveillance, and access control—across diverse client environments ranging from pharmaceutical facilities to entertainment studios. You'd be responsible for the full lifecycle of these deployments: configuring systems, conducting routine maintenance, diagnosing problems, and working directly with customers to understand their security needs and recommend solutions. The role also requires staying current on building codes, maintaining detailed work records, and keeping your technical knowledge sharp as systems and software evolve.

This position demands at least three years of hands-on commercial security service experience and working knowledge of industry-standard platforms like Genetec, Bosch, and Lenel systems. You'll need to be comfortable reading blueprints, climbing ladders, working in tight spaces, and operating lift equipment. A clean driving record and ACE card (or willingness to obtain one) are required. Beyond technical skills, the job calls for strong problem-solving and communication abilities—you'll be coordinating with customers, coworkers, tradespeople, and vendors regularly.

The role is based in Los Angeles and requires in-office work. Compensation ranges from $33 to $44 per hour depending on experience, with bonus potential. Benefits include medical, dental, and vision coverage (with the company covering up to 95% of medical premiums), two weeks of vacation, seven sick days, seven paid holidays, and opportunities for training and development. Lead technicians have access to take-home service vehicles.
