About this role

David Zwirner is seeking a Business Associate to serve as an operational backbone for its Chief Operating Officer, handling the legal, insurance, and real estate infrastructure that keeps a major international gallery running. You'd spend your time reviewing and negotiating contracts for sales, loans, and consignments; managing gallery-wide insurance policies and lease renewals; and collaborating with finance on specialized terms for invoices and purchase agreements. The role demands someone highly organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable working across departments—you'll need to synthesize information from multiple teams, track complex renewal schedules, and communicate clearly with colleagues at all levels.

The ideal candidate brings a bachelor's degree and at least three years in the art industry, with particular strength in contract analysis and ideally some fine arts insurance background. This is a Monday-to-Friday position (10am–6pm, hybrid) based in New York, paying $68,000–$80,000. David Zwirner explicitly welcomes career changers, people returning to work, and those new to the field who are genuinely interested in learning the business side of contemporary art. Beyond the salary, you'd gain access to private gallery events, staff-driven projects, museum memberships, summer Fridays, and solid benefits including 401k matching.
