About this role
TrellisWare is looking for a Manufacturing Test Engineer to own the transition of test systems from product development into production and drive continuous improvement across their manufacturing operations. You'll design and implement automated test systems for wireless communications products, develop test fixtures and infrastructure, and work directly with hardware and software teams, quality, and contract manufacturing partners to ensure products are designed for testability and tested reliably at scale. The role spans hands-on engineering—programming test scripts, integrating equipment like spectrum analyzers and RF switch matrices, troubleshooting failures—alongside process development, data analysis, and production support.
This position suits someone with a technical degree and one to eight years of experience building automated test systems or manufacturing processes. You'll need solid programming skills in Python, C#, or similar languages, comfort with Linux and Windows environments, and ideally some background with RF test equipment or wireless communications. Experience with contract manufacturers, new product introductions, test fixtures, or test data analysis is valuable. The role is based in San Diego and requires occasional travel, roughly 15 percent of the time.
At TrellisWare, you'd be joining a company founded in 2000 that leads in advanced wireless communications algorithms and systems. The work combines analytical problem-solving with practical engineering—understanding why failures happen, designing solutions, and building repeatable processes that scale across multiple products and partners. This is a contract position with a salary range of 85,000 to 110,000.
