About this role
Clēnera is seeking a Development Manager to shepherd utility-scale solar and energy storage projects from early conception through permitting and construction. You'll own day-to-day project execution across a sprawling pipeline—currently 17.8 GW of solar and 51.1 GWh of storage across 23 states—coordinating internal teams in real estate, environmental compliance, and permitting while managing relationships with landowners, local zoning boards, state and federal agencies, and other external stakeholders. The role demands someone who can translate complex development contracts into sound decisions, extract and track mitigation requirements from permitting documents, and feed technical and economic analysis back to the business development team to support RFP responses.
This position suits someone with at least three years in renewables, environmental work, permitting, or real estate development who understands power markets and interconnection processes. You'll need a bachelor's degree in engineering, mathematics, business, finance, economics, or a related field, along with solid contract negotiation fundamentals and the ability to persuade and influence across multiple stakeholder groups. Comfort with Microsoft Office and readiness to learn proprietary software are essential; expect up to 30% travel.
The role is contract-based and fully remote from Boise. Clēnera offers comprehensive medical, dental, and vision coverage at no employee cost, retirement matching, HSA and FSA options, paid time off, and incentive pay with RSU plans.
