About this role

Four Hands, a 25-year-old furniture design and wholesale company on Austin's Inc. 5000 list, is looking for a Trade Compliance Specialist to manage the flow of goods across U.S. and Canadian borders. This is a hands-on role based in their Austin headquarters, working directly with customs brokers, freight forwarders, and internal teams to keep shipments moving smoothly and compliantly.

Your day-to-day work will center on customs documentation and entry management—compiling and reviewing shipment data, applying tariff classifications, auditing filed entries against source documents, and tracking clearance status. You'll also handle post-entry activities like duty drawback claims, monitor duty and fee payments, maintain trade compliance records, and serve as the point of contact for routine questions from brokers and forwarders. The role requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and proficiency with spreadsheets and trade systems like ACE or customs broker portals.

The ideal candidate brings at least three years of import/export, logistics, supply chain, or customs brokerage experience, plus an Associate's or Bachelor's degree. Familiarity with tariff classification, ISF requirements, and Canadian customs is expected; customs brokerage experience and a Certified Customs Specialist designation are preferred but not required. If you're detail-oriented, systems-savvy, and interested in building deeper expertise in trade compliance, this role offers the chance to do that in a growing, fast-paced environment.
