About this role

Compassion Animal Hospital's front desk team is the operational and emotional center of a three-doctor practice in Catlett, Virginia. As a Customer Service Representative, you'd manage the full client journey—from warm greetings and phone intake through appointment scheduling, payment processing, and prescription dispensing. The role blends administrative precision (patient documentation, invoicing, cash reconciliation) with genuine interpersonal skill, requiring you to educate pet owners about preventative care while staying calm when handling concerns or scheduling conflicts.

This position suits someone emotionally intelligent and organized who genuinely enjoys supporting others without burning out. The hospital explicitly prioritizes steady workflows, clear communication, and a respectful team culture over chaos or drama. You'd work closely with veterinarians and technicians, multitask comfortably, and be comfortable standing for extended periods, working with animals and cleaning agents, and occasionally lifting up to 30 pounds. While veterinary experience is a plus, one year of customer service experience and a high school diploma are the core requirements; comfort with practice management software matters more than prior vet knowledge.

The part-time position pays $15–18 per hour with access to PTO, an Employee Assistance Program, 401(k), and comprehensive voluntary and employer-paid insurance options, plus eligibility for performance bonuses. The schedule includes some evenings and weekends. If you value a supportive workplace where your contributions are recognized and your coworkers genuinely have your back, this role offers stability in a practice that walks its talk on culture.
