About this role
StepStone Group's Sydney-based Analyst role sits within their Real Assets team, supporting investment decisions across infrastructure and related sectors globally. You'd spend your time conducting due diligence on potential opportunities—from primary funds and secondaries through to direct investments—and building the financial models and analysis that underpin those decisions. This means working with discounted cash flow analysis, valuation bridges, comparable company research, and scenario modeling, then translating your findings into clear memos and presentations that can withstand scrutiny in Investment Committee meetings.
The role demands someone comfortable moving between analytical depth and client-facing communication. You'll interact directly with clients, support team members on mandates, and need to articulate investment arguments both on paper and verbally. Success requires strong Excel and PowerPoint skills, meticulous attention to detail, and the ability to juggle multiple projects without losing sight of deadlines. The ideal candidate has one to three years of relevant experience—whether from investment banking, project finance, professional services, or as an investor—ideally with a background in finance, business, engineering, or economics.
This is an in-office position in Sydney, suited to someone early in their career who's ready to deepen their infrastructure and real assets knowledge while building core analytical and communication capabilities in a structured, client-focused environment.
