About this role

Ice Miller's Cleveland office is building out its real estate finance practice and needs a senior associate with five to eight years of law firm and in-house experience to handle sophisticated middle-market transactions. You'd work primarily with private equity funds, family offices, and long-term care investors on complex deals—M&A transactions, acquisitions and divestitures, joint ventures, leases, and private placements. The role demands hands-on involvement in negotiating and documenting commercial real estate financings, analyzing title and survey issues, managing due diligence, and closing transactions alongside clients and partners.

Beyond transaction work, you'd supervise junior associates, participate in business development, and have a direct path to advancement within a collegial mid-size firm. The position requires a J.D. from an accredited law school with strong credentials, an active license in Ohio, and a track record of managing complex deals independently and collaboratively. Ice Miller offers competitive compensation ($205,000–$235,000 plus discretionary and hours-based bonuses), standard benefits, one-on-one career coaching, and a culture centered on mentorship and professional growth.
