About this role

Priogen's Intraday Meteorology/Trader role combines weather forecasting expertise with active participation in energy markets. You would spend your time nowcasting wind and solar production across Central Western Europe over five-hour horizons, trading those forecasts in intraday and imbalance markets, and continuously refining the meteorological tools and models that drive both manual and algorithmic trading decisions. The work bridges technical analysis—evaluating weather models, identifying synoptic patterns, and assessing meteorological risk—with direct P&L responsibility in fast-moving markets where precision matters.

This role suits someone with a master's degree in meteorology or atmospheric science and one to three years of nowcasting experience who is genuinely motivated by both weather prediction and trading. You'll need Python proficiency, strong analytical thinking, and comfort with detail-oriented work in the imbalance market. Prior intraday trading experience is valued but not required. The company emphasizes a collaborative environment, personal development, and performance-based compensation alongside standard benefits, positioning this as an opportunity to grow expertise in a field where renewable energy integration is creating sustained demand for skilled forecasters and traders.
