About this role
Working as a Catalogue Intern at takealot.com means managing product data across South Africa's largest online retail platform. You'll upload and edit product listings, quality-check data for accuracy and completeness, and meet tight turnaround times—all while working in the Cape Town office within a fast-moving e-commerce environment. The role demands strong attention to detail, proficiency with Google Sheets, and the ability to stay organized under pressure.
This 18-month contract is designed as a structured entry point into e-commerce. You'll receive formal training in both technical and soft skills, work alongside experienced professionals, and gain practical exposure to how large-scale retail operations function. The internship program includes access to online learning platforms and a mentorship component, positioning it as a launchpad rather than a temporary task role.
You should have an N6 in Management Assistant or NCV in Engineering or IT, though the role prioritizes how you work—your adaptability, communication skills, problem-solving mindset, and ability to learn quickly matter as much as credentials. If you thrive in collaborative, fast-paced settings and want hands-on experience in a growing company, this could be a strong fit.
