About this role

Brunswick Group's Sydney office is looking for an experienced advisor to support high-stakes corporate communications and capital markets work. You'd join a team advising major listed companies, financial institutions, and investors on complex situations where reputation, strategy, and stakeholder engagement matter most—spanning M&A, IPOs, activist defense, crisis management, and shareholder engagement. The role demands someone with 2-5 years in investment banking, equity research, corporate finance, investor relations, financial communications, corporate law, or a related advisory field who can move comfortably between detailed analysis and strategic thinking.

Day-to-day, you'll conduct research on companies and market dynamics, draft client materials ranging from Q&As to investor communications, and contribute analysis on transactions and special situations. You'll support account teams in developing communications strategies, help clients understand stakeholder perceptions and regulatory requirements, and work across multidisciplinary teams—both locally and globally. The work requires strong analytical skills, the ability to synthesize complex information into clear recommendations, and genuine commercial judgment about how corporate decisions land with investors, media, regulators, and other key players.

This suits someone who is intellectually curious about business and finance, comfortable with ambiguity and pressure, and genuinely interested in how reputation and strategy intersect in the corporate world. You'll need excellent writing and communication skills, proficiency with financial research platforms, and the discretion to handle confidential matters. The role is in-office in Sydney and offers real exposure to significant transactions and reputation challenges across Australia and internationally.
