Description
About the Role
Ophelia Health is seeking a full-time Territory Manager to initiate and develop strong, lasting relationships with community partners to support patients with opioid use disorder (OUD). In this role, you will be the face of Ophelia in local communities, acting as the vital link between our organization and the community programs we partner with. Your mission is to build a high-volume referral engine that ensures individuals with Opioid Use Disorder (OUD) can seamlessly access Ophelia’s life-saving telehealth treatment. By establishing trust and building bidirectional partnerships, you will help create a network of support that enhances our patients' treatment journey.
Join Ophelia Health to not only build a career but to make a meaningful impact on one of the greatest healthcare crises of our lifetime. You’ll be part of a passionate team, with ample opportunities for growth, competitive benefits, and the chance to truly make a difference in people’s lives.
What you'll do:
- New Partnership Acquisition: Own the full partnership lifecycle: proactively identify, prospect, and pitch Ophelia to new referral sources. You will manage a high-volume pipeline, moving organizations from 'cold outreach' to 'active partners' with persistence.
- Strategic Relationship Management: : Nurture and scale existing partnerships. You aren't just a face in the room; you ensure partners remain clinically and philosophically aligned with Ophelia’s mission, turning local organizations into long-term, sustainable advocates for our patients
- Data & CRM Management: Utilize CRM tools (like Salesforce or HubSpot) to track activity, conversion rates from referral to patient, and ROI on partnership outreach. You will be expected to uncover insights into your own performance, including analyzing which partner types yield the highest patient conversion and adjusting your weekly strategy accordingly.
- Community Engagement: Spend the majority of your time in the field, meeting with healthcare providers, community leaders, patient advocates, and others to identify needs, remove barriers to treatment, and solidify Ophelia’s presence.
- Feedback Integration: Collect and analyze feedback from community partners to refine Ophelia’s referral strategies and products. Help develop and build solutions for existing referral barriers.
- Collaborate Across Teams: Work closely with Ophelia’s marketing, commercial, clinical, product, and operations teams to achieve outreach and market penetration goals.
What we're looking for:
- Live in/near Buffalo, with proximity to Erie and Niagara counties (ideally within 30 minutes by car), and willingness to travel regularly into the Rochester and Northwestern Pennsylvania
- Able to travel locally with reliable transportation & valid drivers license ~4 days/week for meetings with partners
- 2-5 Years of Experience: Proven track record in Business Development, Partnership Development/Management, Medical Sales, or Account Management.
- Grit & Autonomy: You are a self-starter who thrives when given a territory and a goal. You don't wait for a task list; you create a plan and execute it.
- Skilled in independently crafting and executing outreach strategies, with a demonstrated ability to monitor performance metrics, adapt approaches as needed, and ensure objectives are achieved
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, demonstrating empathy and a patient-first/client-first mindset
- Passionate about serving marginalized and vulnerable populations
- Proven ability to maintain professionalism and confidentiality when working with sensitive and confidential information
- Preferred:
- Experience within the SUD treatment community, with existing relationships in this space
- Experience working with clinical staff, healthcare administration staff, and people with opioid use disorders
- We set compensation based on the level and skills required for the role. We value pay transparency and equity, and are committed to fair pay. In order to prevent pay disparities and reduce time spent in negotiations, we take a “first and best” offer approach: this means we’re not holding any compensation back from our candidates, and you can feel confident that our pay is fair and does not vary based on the strength of someone’s negotiation skills.
- Compensation is dynamic at Ophelia: as long as the company performs well and meets our targets, there will be opportunities for increased compensation annually. We’re happy to discuss this approach and our bands if you have questions during the interview process.

About this role
Ophelia is a telehealth platform addressing opioid use disorder through FDA-approved medication and clinical care, and they're expanding their presence in the Buffalo region. As Territory Manager, you'd own the full cycle of partnership development—from identifying and pitching referral sources to nurturing long-term relationships with healthcare providers, community organizations, and patient advocates. The role is fundamentally about building a high-volume referral network that connects people with OUD to Ophelia's treatment, spending most of your time in the field across Buffalo, Erie, Niagara, Rochester, and Northwestern Pennsylvania.
Success in this position requires self-direction and sales discipline. You'll manage a pipeline using CRM tools like Salesforce, track conversion metrics from referral to patient enrollment, and adjust your strategy based on what the data shows. You'll also gather feedback from partners to identify treatment barriers and collaborate with Ophelia's marketing, clinical, and product teams to refine how the organization reaches people. The company expects someone with 2–5 years in business development, medical sales, or account management—ideally with existing ties to the substance use disorder treatment community and comfort working with clinical staff and vulnerable populations.
This role pays $75,000–$90,000 and requires living near Buffalo with reliable transportation for roughly four days a week of local travel. It suits someone who thrives with autonomy and a defined territory, has genuine passion for serving marginalized communities, and can maintain confidentiality in a sensitive healthcare context.
