About this role

Astro Pak is hiring Associate Field Technicians to perform specialized chemical cleaning and passivation on high-purity gas and fluid systems at mission-critical facilities nationwide. You'll travel extensively (80%+ of the time) to work on-site at semiconductor plants, aerospace manufacturers, pharmaceutical labs, data centers, and other advanced industrial facilities, learning a technical trade that's in genuine demand across multiple sectors. This is a contract position based in Raleigh, but the work itself takes you across the country.

The role demands hands-on technical work: operating specialized equipment, safely handling industrial chemicals like citric acid and caustics, managing PPE compliance, transporting equipment, and maintaining organized workspaces. You'll work irregular hours including 30–50% night shifts, weekends, and holidays on short notice. Astro Pak provides two weeks of paid training in California within your first month and supports you in earning industry certifications; they explicitly hire for attitude and train for technical skills, so no prior experience is required. What matters is mechanical aptitude, comfort with tools and changing environments, a clean driving record, ability to lift 50 pounds, and genuine interest in building a career in this specialized field.

The company offers a $3,000 sign-on bonus, subsidized health insurance, 401(k) matching, paid time off, and a travel stipend. This role suits someone seeking real technical skill development and willing to embrace constant travel and variable schedules as part of the job, not a drawback.
