Description
The era of pervasive AI has arrived. In this era, organizations will use generative AI to unlock hidden value in their data, accelerate processes, reduce costs, drive efficiency and innovation to fundamentally transform their businesses and operations at scale.
SambaNova Suite™ is the first full-stack, generative AI platform, from chip to model, optimized for enterprise and government organizations. Powered by the intelligent SN40L chip, the SambaNova Suite is a fully integrated platform, delivered on-premises or in the cloud, combined with state-of-the-art open-source models that can be easily and securely fine-tuned using customer data for greater accuracy. Once adapted with customer data, customers retain model ownership in perpetuity, so they can turn generative AI into one of their most valuable assets.
About the team
The team integrates SambaNova's AI accelerators into rack scale systems and gets them deployed in customer datacenters. We handle the racking and stacking of tightly integrated network, power, and compute equipment in both prototype and production environments, and we take rack solutions through prototyping into mass production so they stay manufacturable and serviceable at scale. We work with architects, engineering teams, customer datacenter teams, sales, and marketing, and we manage vendor relationships to line the equipment up with our current and future roadmap.

- Select, configure, and customize high performance rack equipment for deployment at scale across a wide range of customer datacenters
- Work with architects, engineering teams, customer datacenter teams, sales, and marketing to align rack designs with product needs
- Engage with multiple vendors and build the partnerships needed to support our current and future roadmap
Required qualifications
- B.S. in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field
- 10+ years of hands-on experience deploying advanced compute and networking equipment in leading edge datacenter clustered environments
- Working knowledge of specification, configuration, and use of common datacenter support equipment such as network switches, power systems, and fiber and copper networking technologies
- Recent experience with typical datacenter working practices and current and upcoming standards, including rack design, wiring practices, rack power options, and cooling technologies
- Recent experience in prototyping and converting high performance integrated rack solutions to mass production while keeping them manufacturable and serviceable
- Experience partnering with cross-disciplinary teams
Preferred qualifications
- Recent AI platform integration experience
- High performance switch and networking experience, including some ability to work on switch configuration
- Experience with high power air and liquid cooled rack platform design, integration, and deployment
- Background in startup engineering environments with a find a problem, adopt it, solve it approach to technical challenges

About this role
SambaNova is building the infrastructure layer for enterprise AI deployment, and this role sits at the intersection of hardware integration and datacenter operations. You'd own the physical and logical design of rack-scale AI systems—from selecting and configuring network, power, and compute components to shepherding solutions through prototyping into production. The work spans both breadth and depth: hands-on equipment deployment alongside vendor management, cross-team coordination with architects and customer datacenter teams, and the engineering discipline required to keep complex integrated systems manufacturable and serviceable at scale.
The position demands 10+ years in advanced compute and datacenter environments, with solid grounding in electrical, mechanical, or computer engineering. You'll need working knowledge of datacenter standards, rack design, power and cooling systems, and networking technologies. The preferred qualifications—AI platform experience, high-performance switching, liquid cooling systems, and comfort in startup-paced problem-solving—suggest this role rewards people who can move quickly across multiple technical domains and thrive in customer-facing deployment scenarios.
Based in San Jose with in-office work required, the role offers a salary range of $210,000–$280,000 plus equity, comprehensive medical and dental coverage, and wellness benefits including Headspace and One Medical.
