About this role

NYCEDC's Incentives team is seeking someone to shepherd development finance transactions from start to finish—managing tax incentive applications, bond financing deals, and New Markets Tax Credit projects for both for-profit and nonprofit clients. You'd conduct financial analysis and due diligence, evaluate applicant eligibility against program requirements, and present findings to senior leadership and boards. The work spans advising real estate developers and nonprofits on available incentives, coordinating site visits and environmental reviews, and collaborating with external partners like CDFIs and city agencies to advance strategic initiatives.

This role suits someone with three or more years in economic development, finance, real estate, public policy, or government—ideally with hands-on experience in financial analysis and project management. You'll need strong Excel and presentation skills, the ability to juggle multiple priorities, and comfort communicating complex financial concepts to diverse audiences. You'd also mentor junior staff on transactions and program details as the team grows.

The position is based in Manhattan and requires NYC residency within six months. The salary is $90,000–$92,000, paired with comprehensive benefits including health coverage, up to 25 vacation days, parental leave, tuition reimbursement, and loan forgiveness eligibility through PSLF.
