About this role
Working as a Client Advisor intern at IMA Financial Group means stepping into a hands-on role supporting commercial insurance clients throughout their policy lifecycle. You'll coordinate new business and renewals, manage policy documentation, review coverage for gaps and risks, and help identify opportunities to expand client relationships. The work spans client communication, internal coordination with processing teams and carriers, and preparing proposals and insurance summaries. This is a position where you'll develop real advisory skills while directly contributing to client outcomes.
The role requires an active North Carolina Insurance Agent License and prior experience in a similar insurance service capacity—whether as an Account Manager, Client Advisor, or comparable role. You'll need strong communication and relationship-building abilities, solid organizational skills to juggle multiple priorities, and attention to detail. An Associate's or Bachelor's degree, commercial insurance background, or industry designations are preferred but not required. As an intern, you won't be eligible for the full benefits package, though IMA is recognized across multiple regions as a top workplace and operates with an ownership model that includes employees in the company's success.
