About this role

Network Building + Consulting is seeking an Engineer I to join their Philadelphia office as a Civil Designer Engineer supporting telecommunications infrastructure projects. You'll work on-site creating engineering drawings in AutoCAD for new macro and small cell sites, fiber optic networks, and facility modifications. The role blends hands-on design work with structured learning—you'll produce drawings to company standards while building foundational knowledge of telecom site development, equipment specifications, and construction methods across projects for major wireless carriers and utility companies.

This position suits someone with a civil engineering degree (or equivalent background) and up to three years of drawing production experience who is comfortable working independently. You'll need solid AutoCAD and Microsoft Office skills, ideally with exposure to 3D modeling software like Autodesk Inventor. The job requires you to read existing blueprints, evaluate designs for constructability, and manage your own task priorities—this is not a heavily supervised role. If you're detail-oriented, can learn client-specific standards quickly, and want to deepen your understanding of how telecommunications networks are built, this is a clear entry point into the industry.
