About this role

StepStone Group's Charlotte office is seeking an Associate to own the investor onboarding process for its alternative investment vehicles. You would serve as the central point of contact guiding investors through subscription documentation, AML/KYC requirements, tax paperwork, and account setup across multiple platforms like Anduin and SUBSCRIBE. This role demands coordination across Legal, Compliance, Fund Administration, and Business Development to keep onboarding timelines on track, manage complex investor structures and jurisdictional issues, and escalate risks before they become problems.

The position blends operational execution with process improvement. Beyond day-to-day onboarding management, you'll identify workflow bottlenecks, implement automation and AI-enabled solutions to reduce manual work, and maintain dashboards tracking onboarding metrics and SMA status. You'll also partner with internal teams and vendors on system enhancements and data integrity across platforms and CRM systems. Success requires 5–7+ years of hands-on investor onboarding experience at an alternative asset manager, demonstrated proficiency with digital subscription platforms, and a solid grasp of private equity, venture capital, real estate, and infrastructure fund structures.

This is an in-office role suited to someone who thrives managing multiple concurrent processes under deadline pressure, operates independently with strong ownership, and has the initiative to build scalable future-state processes. You'll need sharp organizational skills, Excel proficiency, and the ability to communicate clearly across functional teams while maintaining meticulous attention to detail.
