What we’re looking for:
We are seeking an experienced electronic security project manager to join our fast growing and dynamic team.
What you’ll be doing:
This position will have multiple roles ranging from: complete installation project oversight, project financial responsibility, scheduling, system programming, project quality control, installation and subcontractor team coordination, and most importantly, representing NextGen Security as the main point of contact for our valued customers. Some travel may be required.
What you bring to the table:
- Minimum of 5 years of security project manager experience directly managing all aspects of security projects.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience with configuring, installing and maintaining:
- Enterprise-level access control systems.
- Intrusion detection systems (IDS), both fiber and copper based.
- Enterprise-level video management systems (IP-based).
- Networking and IT knowledge.
- Ability to safely operate a company vehicle.
- Superior problem solving and communication skills.
- Manage technician and subcontractor project teams.
- Work independently with minimal supervision.
- Familiarization with local electronic security codes and industry standards.
- Understanding and ability to work safely in a chemical plant environment.
- Experience with AutoCAD, Visio, MS Project and other Microsoft products.
Preferred
- Access Control System Vendor Certifications in Software House, Genetec, ProWatch and/or Lenel.
- Video Management System Vendor Certifications in Genetec, OnSSI, MaxPro, and/or Milestone.
- Intrusion Detection System Vendor Certifications in Senstar/Optellios, and/or FFT.
- Experience in computer operating systems, network design and implementation.
- TWIC Cardholder.

About this role
NextGen Security is looking for an experienced electronic security project manager to oversee complex installations across their Dallas and Childress locations. You'd own the full lifecycle of security projects—from initial planning and budgeting through installation, system programming, and final quality control. The role demands hands-on technical expertise combined with leadership: you'll coordinate technician and subcontractor teams, manage vendor relationships, and serve as the primary contact for clients throughout each project. Some travel between sites is expected.
To succeed here, you need at least five years of direct experience managing enterprise security systems, including access control, intrusion detection, and IP-based video management. You should be comfortable configuring and maintaining these systems yourself, have solid networking and IT knowledge, and understand local codes and industry standards. The ability to work independently, solve problems under pressure, and communicate clearly with both technical teams and clients is essential. Certifications from vendors like Genetec, Software House, Senstar, or Milestone are valued, as is familiarity with AutoCAD, Visio, and MS Project.
NextGen offers compensation tied to experience and performance, a company vehicle, full benefits, vacation, and a cellphone allowance. This is a full-time contract position in an in-office setting, suited for someone with substantial hands-on security systems experience who's ready to take on significant project responsibility.
