About this role
Wilson Elser's San Diego office is seeking an experienced litigation paralegal to support complex cases within a collaborative team environment. You'll handle substantive work across the full litigation lifecycle—from obtaining and organizing medical records through trial preparation. The role involves managing discovery databases, drafting subpoenas, summarizing depositions and medical chronologies, coordinating document productions, and preparing materials for expert review. This is hands-on, case-impacting work rather than administrative support, and the firm emphasizes that paralegals here are respected contributors whose work directly influences outcomes.
The position requires a paralegal certificate or degree in paralegal studies plus at least three years of litigation experience, ideally in insurance defense. You'll need strong organizational skills, proficiency with legal research and case management software, solid written and verbal communication, and the ability to juggle multiple cases in a fast-paced setting. Billing experience and familiarity with law firm practices are expected. You'll work in-office four days weekly with one remote day available.
Wilson Elser is a nationally ranked firm with over 1,400 attorneys across 46 offices, offering the stability and resources of a large practice alongside a stated commitment to professional growth, performance-based compensation progression, and a supportive culture. The benefits package includes 401k matching, generous PTO, wellness programs, and corporate discounts. This role suits someone with solid paralegal experience looking for substantive work, long-term stability, and room to advance within an established firm.
