About this role

Da Vinci is seeking a Legal Counsel to join its Amsterdam office on a contract basis, working directly with trading teams and reporting to the General Counsel. You'll handle the full spectrum of legal work—from drafting and negotiating contracts to advising on corporate structuring, privacy, IP, and AI matters. The role also involves tracking regulatory changes, supporting cross-functional projects with Compliance and Risk, and helping the legal department adopt AI tools responsibly. This is a varied position where you'll be both a trusted advisor to the business and a legal risk ambassador across the organization.

The ideal candidate holds a law degree from the EU, UK, or US and brings three to five years of post-qualification experience, ideally from private practice or a regulated financial services firm. You'll need proven contract drafting and negotiation skills, hands-on experience with corporate housekeeping and entity set-up, and a practical mindset that balances depth with pragmatism. Curiosity about emerging legal topics like AI and comfort using AI tools in your own work are important; you should be genuinely interested in helping the department work more effectively with new technology.

The package includes a base salary of EUR 70,000–100,000 depending on experience, variable pay, potential shareholding, and a relocation package if moving from abroad. Da Vinci also offers in-house catering, gym and recreation facilities, and covers commute costs. The role is in-office in Amsterdam and suits someone who thrives on variety, enjoys collaboration, and wants to see the direct impact of legal advice on a fast-growing trading business.
