About this role

Upstream Rehabilitation's Journey program offers PTAs a structured way to work across the country without the uncertainty typical of travel therapy roles. You'd deliver evidence-based orthopedic care in outpatient clinics across Upstream's 1,200+ facilities spanning 28 states, with assignment lengths typically running 13 weeks but flexible to 6 or 12 months. The role combines clinical work—executing personalized care plans, collaborating with local teams, and contributing to outcomes—with genuine geographic mobility, whether you want to explore new regions or eventually settle into a permanent location.

What sets this apart from independent travel agencies is the employment stability: you remain a full-time Upstream employee throughout, with continuous insurance coverage, paid relocation days between assignments, and a standardized EMR system so you're not relearning documentation at each new clinic. Compensation includes competitive hourly pay, a non-taxed housing stipend, travel reimbursement, tiered bonuses, and standard benefits including 401(k) matching and student loan repayment options.

You'll need an active or pending PTA license and a degree from an accredited program. This role suits clinicians who value both career growth and the freedom to work in different communities without sacrificing job security or benefits.
