ABOUT MUDDY MAT
Muddy Mat is a 9 figure revenue direct-to-consumer pet products brand, bootstrapped and profitable.
We are the #1 selling indoor mat for cleaning dog paws, loved by millions of pet owners across America. Our portfolio includes Muddy Mat, Cloud K9 (anti-anxiety dog beds), and Wizz (pet stain remover).

This role requires someone who can operate at 30,000 feet (strategy, capital markets, exit prep) and at ground level (ERP cleanup, cost optimization, hands-on problem solving). We are a lean organization that values truth, ownership, and results over corporate theater.

About this role
Catch Creation is seeking a hands-on CFO to lead the finance function at Muddy Mat, a nine-figure, bootstrapped pet products brand that has built a dominant position in direct-to-consumer and retail channels. You'll report directly to the founder, own the entire P&L, and manage a lean team of four across bookkeeping, audit, and controller functions. This is a genuine strategic seat—not a reporting role—where you'll operate across both high-level capital markets work and ground-level operational execution.
The role demands someone equally comfortable preparing the business for a raise or exit as you are optimizing the ERP system, managing cash flow across multiple sales channels, and building true unit economics by product and channel. You'll own everything from financial close and reporting to sales tax compliance across all 50 states, while also leading Quality of Earnings processes with investors and strategic buyers. The company values ownership and results in a lean, truth-focused environment.
You'll need 7+ years in progressive finance roles with at least 3 years in senior leadership, proven DTC e-commerce experience at $50M+ scale, and a track record of preparing companies for exit or capital raise. Hands-on experience with ERP systems like Fulfil.io, strong GAAP and revenue recognition knowledge, and experience managing offshore finance teams are essential. The position is based in Miami and in-office, with a salary range of $200,000–$250,000.
