About this role

Verifone is seeking a Compliance Officer to lead regulatory oversight across its APAC operations, a role that sits at the intersection of internal governance and external regulatory engagement. You would manage compliance across multiple entities and outsourced functions, acting as the primary liaison with APAC regulatory authorities while providing strategic guidance on anti-bribery and anti-corruption programs, third-party due diligence, sanctions, and payments regulation. The position requires you to oversee complex casework—from gifts and hospitality approvals to distributor risk assessments—while driving compliance culture through education and proactive horizon scanning.

This role demands at least five years of compliance experience within APAC, ideally in payments, fintech, or financial services, with strong grounding in ABAC regulations, AML/CTF, and modern slavery frameworks. You'll need solid stakeholder management skills and the ability to navigate a matrixed, fast-paced global environment while maintaining high standards of judgment and attention to detail. A bachelor's degree in law or a related field is required, along with demonstrated experience engaging with regulatory bodies in the region.

The position is based in Sydney and requires in-office attendance. It suits compliance professionals ready to take on a lead role managing multiple regulatory streams and building compliance frameworks for a major payments technology company.
