  • Develop a deep understanding of each customer’s business and the market they serve
  • Build relationships and rapport with customers and internal stakeholders that pertain to your mission
  • Use matrix selling and our EBC center to connect decision makers and c-level executives to relative roles within Bandwidth
  • Understand how to manage a book of business effectively, including the ability to identify key decision makers, organization mapping, identifying key accounts with opportunities, and deciding where to spend time and where to travel.
  • Utilize the ValueSelling methodology to ensure you have qualified opportunities and an agreed upon executable plan that aligns with the client’s top business issue
  • Identify new opportunities to cross-sell Bandwidth global voice, messaging, and e911 solutions
  • Mitigate risk and maintain competitive contracts
  • Present strategic opportunities via Account Plans to leadership on an ongoing basis with an emphasis on quarterly and annual planning
  • Work cross-functionally with internal groups, leveraging resources for assigned accounts
  • Drive revenue generation and development of strategic partnerships

What You Need:

  • 10+ years of sales and business development experience

  • 5+ years of experience managing existing accounts
  • Bachelor's degree in business, marketing, or a related field

Bonus Points:

The Whole Person Promise:

At Bandwidth, we’re pretty proud of our corporate culture, which is rooted in our “Whole Person Promise.” We promise all employees that they can have meaningful work AND a full life, and we provide a work environment geared toward enriching your body, mind, and spirit. How do we do that? Well…

  • 100% company-paid Medical, Vision, & Dental coverage for you and your family with low deductibles and low out-of-pocket expenses.
  • All new hires receive four weeks of PTO.
  • PTO Embargo. When you take time off (of any kind!) you’re embargoed from working. Bandmates and managers are not allowed to interrupt your PTO – not even with email.
  • Additional PTO can be earned throughout the year through volunteer hours and Bandwidth challenges.
  • “Mahalo moments” program grants additional time off for life’s most important moments like graduations, buying a first home, getting married, wedding anniversaries (every five years), and the birth of a grandchild.
  • 90-Minute Workout Lunches and unlimited meetings with our very own nutritionist.

Are you excited about the position and its responsibilities, but not sure if you’re 100% qualified? Do you feel you can work to help us crush the mission? If you answered ‘yes’ to both of these questions, we encourage you to apply! You won’t want to miss the opportunity to be a part of the BAND.

About this role

Bandwidth is seeking a Strategic Account Manager to own and grow relationships with large existing customers in the communications infrastructure space. This role requires someone with deep enterprise sales experience—at least 10 years overall, with 7+ years managing strategic accounts and 5+ years in account management—who can navigate complex organizational structures, identify expansion opportunities across voice, messaging, and e911 solutions, and forecast revenue accurately. You'll work from the Raleigh office, serving as the primary point of contact for assigned accounts while collaborating across internal teams to connect decision-makers and close deals.

The work centers on account planning, cross-selling, and revenue growth within an existing portfolio. You'll use ValueSelling methodology to qualify opportunities, develop detailed customer business knowledge, and present strategic plans to leadership. Success means balancing relationship-building with disciplined forecasting, identifying where to invest your time, and mitigating competitive risk. Background in SaaS, CPaaS, UCaaS, or telecom is preferred but not required.

Note: This position is listed as volunteer, which is unusual for a strategic sales role and warrants clarification with Bandwidth before applying.
