About this role
Armstrong Transport Group is seeking a Senior Capacity Sales Representative to source and secure freight capacity while building lasting carrier relationships across their nationwide network. In this remote role, you'll negotiate rates with carriers, manage high-volume freight flow, and work alongside Account Managers and agents to solve capacity challenges and hit monthly load-volume goals. Success means balancing competitive pricing with service quality and margin protection while leveraging market knowledge and carrier data to make strategic coverage decisions.
You'll need at least three years of experience in carrier sales, capacity, brokerage operations, or transportation, with demonstrated skill in rate negotiation and carrier relationship development. The role rewards results—compensation is commission-based and scales with monthly load volume, so your earning potential grows as you build your carrier network and hit production targets. You should be comfortable working independently in a fast-paced environment, resourceful in solving difficult capacity problems, and driven by the relationship-building side of the business rather than transactional deals.
Armstrong offers medical, dental, and vision coverage, FSA and HSA options, PTO, disability coverage, and a 401(k) with up to 3.5% company match. The company is recognized as a U.S. Best Managed Company and Top Workplace, and operates a broad platform supporting over 150 independent agent offices backed by established technology and data infrastructure.
