About this role

Kymber Consulting Group is hiring a Project Manager to lead large-scale technical implementations for the Defense Health Agency. You'll own the full project lifecycle—from planning through execution—coordinating cross-functional teams while managing timelines, budgets, and risk in a federal health IT environment. This role demands someone who can bridge business and technical stakeholders, maintain compliance with federal requirements, and navigate the complexities of government contracting with minimal supervision.

The position requires at least five years managing federal government contracts, a bachelor's degree in a related field, and PMP certification. You'll need hands-on experience with federal compliance frameworks (FAR/DFARS, HIPAA, CUI), proficiency in project management tools like Smartsheet or MS Project, and familiarity with federal timekeeping systems such as Unanet. Prior exposure to Identity, Credentials & Access Management systems and experience in federal health agencies is preferred but not required. ITILv4 certification is required, though a 30-day waiver is available if you need time to obtain it.

This is a contract position based in San Antonio with up to 10% travel and a Public Trust clearance requirement. The role is contingent upon contract award. Kymber offers standard benefits including medical, dental, vision coverage, 401K, paid time off, and professional development support.
