About this role
Cipher Digital is building hyperscale data centers for bitcoin mining and high-performance computing, and they need an experienced electrical leader to own design and execution across their project portfolio. This Lead Electrical Engineer role sits at the center of fast-track projects, responsible for directing all electrical disciplines—from utility interconnections and medium/low-voltage distribution through backup power systems and protection schemes. You'll review detailed designs for constructability and operational soundness, resolve complex technical issues before they reach the field, and serve as the primary technical contact with utilities, contractors, and vendors throughout design, construction, and commissioning.
The ideal candidate brings 12–18+ years in electrical engineering with substantial hands-on experience in both data center design and operations. You need to understand how electrical decisions ripple through construction timelines, commissioning complexity, and long-term reliability. A PE license is strongly preferred, and direct experience with utility interconnections, HPC environments, or crypto data centers would set you apart. This is an in-office contract role in Denver that demands someone comfortable operating in lean, fast-paced settings and capable of balancing standardization with site-specific requirements.
