About this role

Caddell Construction is seeking a Mechanical Estimator to support its governmental construction projects from either the Montgomery or Atlanta office. In this role, you'll develop and manage estimates for both bid-build and design-build projects, working primarily with mechanical and electrical systems within government RFPs. Your responsibilities span the full estimating lifecycle: reviewing bid documents, building and maintaining subcontractor networks, coordinating bid solicitations, analyzing quotes on bid day, and developing historical cost data. For design-build work, you'll collaborate with the design team early to ensure cost-effective solutions that meet RFP requirements, then stay engaged post-award to keep designs aligned with budget.

Success in this position requires strong technical and organizational skills, with particular emphasis on cost control and schedule management. You'll need excellent communication abilities to work across multidisciplinary teams and manage relationships with subcontractors and vendors throughout the bid process. The role reports to a Senior Estimator and is based in-office with no travel required.

The position calls for a minimum of ten years in construction management, or alternatively, a four-year degree in building science, construction management, or engineering paired with seven-plus years of estimating or project management experience on governmental or similar projects like DoD or correctional facilities. Critically, you must either hold or be able to obtain a Department of Defense Secret security clearance. Caddell offers competitive benefits including medical, dental, and vision coverage, 401k matching, gym reimbursement, and access to company condominiums.
