About this role

Thomas Door is looking for an experienced technician to join their Columbus operation as they expand their commercial door offerings. You'd work independently installing, servicing, and repairing overhead doors, dock equipment, gates, and automatic door systems—interpreting blueprints, performing welding and fabrication as needed, and handling everything from troubleshooting to customer communication. The role demands precision and safety awareness, especially when working at heights or with heavy equipment, along with the ability to maintain accurate paperwork and spot upsell opportunities.

This position suits someone with at least two years of commercial door experience, ideally with overhead door installation or service background. You'll need solid mechanical troubleshooting skills, a valid driver's license, and the ability to read technical drawings. A CDL and prior dock equipment experience are valuable assets. The company emphasizes hands-on training and professional growth within a long-established, stable business that's been serving Central Ohio since 1949—meaning you'd be part of a team with real expertise and room to develop your skills as their product line grows.
