About this role

Plata Card's Integrated Risk Management team is seeking a Risk Data Analyst to take ownership of credit risk across the organization, serving as a second line of defense in their risk framework. You'll develop and implement forecasting models, calculate unit economics for credit products, and build the analytical infrastructure to identify threats to the loan portfolio. The role requires you to synthesize Mexican regulatory frameworks (CNBV, Banxico) and global standards (Basel, IFRS) into Plata's processes, then translate complex findings into clear visualizations and presentations for senior management.

This position suits someone with at least three years of risk and data analysis experience, ideally in credit or consulting environments. You'll need strong quantitative skills—SQL and Python are essential, with Tableau and advanced Excel proficiency expected—plus a degree in STEM, finance, or economics (Master's preferred). The role demands both independent initiative and collaborative teamwork in a fast-moving environment, alongside the ability to communicate technical concepts to non-technical audiences.

Plata operates from Sydney in-office and offers relocation support to hubs across Mexico, Cyprus, Spain, and Serbia if you're open to moving. The package includes healthcare, education and wellness budgets, flexible work arrangements, and 20 days annual leave. You'll join a team that values honest feedback, creative problem-solving, and challenging conventional fintech practices.
