WHAT TO EXPECT
We’re on a mission to unlock the potential of space to improve life on Earth, but that’s not an easy task. It takes hard work, determination, relentless innovation, teamwork, grit, and an unwavering commitment to achieving what others often deem impossible. Our people out-think, out-work, and out-pace. We pride ourselves on having each other’s backs, checking our egos at the door, and rolling up our sleeves on all tasks big and small. We thrive under pressure, work to tight deadlines, and our focus is always on how we can deliver, rather than dwelling on the challenges that stand in the way.

About this role
Rocket Lab is hiring an Avionics Technician for evening shift work (Monday to Thursday, 15:00 to 01:30) building and assembling the electronic components that power the Electron launch vehicle. You'll work hands-on with precision soldering, wire harness construction, high-voltage battery assembly, and component testing—work that directly contributes to rockets that have already delivered over 230 satellites to orbit.
The role requires trade qualification or at least two years of relevant assembly experience, with demonstrated skill in precision electrical or mechanical work and familiarity with ESD protocols and test equipment. You'll need strong eyesight for inspecting PCBs and wiring to high standards, and the ability to read technical drawings and follow manufacturing instructions carefully. Beyond technical competence, Rocket Lab values people who work well in teams, take initiative, stay calm under pressure, and are willing to put in extra hours when deadlines demand it.
The evening shift pattern gives you a three-day weekend every week plus shift allowance, and relocation assistance is available if needed. You'd join a team working on technology that supports NASA missions and climate-focused space projects, with access to career development, employee stock purchase options, and standard benefits including discounted health insurance and parental leave.
