About this role
Marksman Security is hiring experienced security officers for their Midtown Atlanta location on a part-time, in-office basis. The role centers on protecting high-profile properties and clients through a mix of lobby desk work, patrols, control center monitoring, access control, and emergency response. You'll need to stay alert to security violations and unsafe conditions, respond to alarms and distress calls by coordinating with emergency services, and document incidents clearly. The position demands comfort with technology—access control systems, incident reporting software, and email—alongside strong communication skills to interact professionally with both client staff and the public.
Ideal candidates bring prior security, law enforcement, military, or corrections experience, though the company will consider combinations of background: two years of customer service or security work, a criminal justice degree, or equivalent qualifications. You'll need to be at least 21, hold a high school diploma, pass a background check and drug test, and have valid state licensing if required. CPR and First Aid certification is preferred. Beyond the core responsibilities, you should be detail-oriented, able to juggle multiple tasks under pressure, and comfortable working in a professional manner.
The part-time role offers genuine career development—command center positions start at $17/hour with promotion opportunities available. Benefits include medical, vision, and dental insurance, paid time off accrual (8 hours per 100 worked), paid training, and an employee assistance program. Marksman provides meals while on duty, computer-based training, and an employee referral bonus program, positioning this as a meaningful entry or next step in security work rather than a temporary assignment.
