Post Road Veterinary Clinic is looking to add a compassionate and skilled Veterinary Assistant to our team.   At our Rarebreed clinic, you can help reimagine the veterinary experience in your community. Our collaborative environment means you’ll work with a highly experienced and tenured team.  As part of our team, you’ll work with the latest technology, gain access to state-of-the-art training facilities, and collaborate with a positive team to deliver the highest quality of care to the pet patients we all love.  

Post Road Veterinary Clinic opened their doors in 2001 and has been growing ever since. We are a 3-doctor practice in a beautiful facility supporting dogs and cats. We have a highly experienced and tenured, collaborative team. We offer a wide range of veterinary services for pets in the following areas: Pet wellness and vaccination programs to prevent illnesses, animal medical services for diagnosing and treating health conditions, pet surgery including spay and neuter, pet dental cleanings, and many more.  

We are in Wells, ME “The Friendliest Town in Maine”, less than 2 miles from the beach! Wells boasts excellent public schools, 7 miles of sandy beaches with public access, the “Antiques Mile”, many museums, parks & farmers markets, a summer concert series on the Bay, Wonder Mountain Fun Park, a National Wildlife Reserve, access to the Eastern Trail bicycle trail system offering 22 off-road miles from Kittery to South Portland, a plethora of restaurants, of which many specialize in serving local Maine lobster and seafood. Veterinary Assistant  

Post Road Veterinary Clinic in Wells, ME 

$20-23 hourly pay rate

 

WHAT YOU’LL DO  

Clean exam rooms, counters, floors, kitchen, treatment, vacuum, empty trash as needed 

Gather, wash, dry, fold laundry and store away 

Stock treatment areas and exam rooms 

Clean surgical equipment – Scrub, sterilize/pack instruments 

Assist Technicians 

Restrain animals for blood draws, radiographs, outpatient procedures 

Collect urine from patients 

Walk patients 

Run appropriate blood work 

Read PCV/TP 

Answer phones 

Check patients in and out of the hospital 

Regular client communication

REQUIREMENTS   

1+ year of veterinary experience 

Detail oriented and well organized 

Excellent communication skills 

Self-motivated 

Team-oriented 

Ability to multi-task 

Able to lift 50 pound
